Today we’ll share the same lessons we teach our clients so you can get started with the overhead press. An overhead press (more correctly called the ‘press’) is when you stand with the bar at your shoulders, and press upwards ending up with the bar overhead. For example, I can bench press 175 lbs, but I can only overhead press 125 lbs – this is normal, and you should expect it to be a lot lower. It’ll help you start incorporating the overhead press into your training:Download our comprehensive guide STRENGTH TRAINING 101!
