Sunday, February 7, marks National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (#NBHAAD) 2021. In 2019, Black Americans represented 13% of the U.S. population but 43% of all new #HIV diagnoses. Did you know, for example, that in 2019, African Americans represented 13% of the U.S. population but 43% of new HIV cases? Similarly, according to the Department of Agriculture, 11% of the U.S. population experienced food insecurity, compared with 21% of African Americans. Between 2015 and 2019, there was a 10.3% decrease in new #HIV diagnoses among Black Americans overall.
